The Broadway Gymnastic Foundation
Formed in 1982, the Broadway Gymnastic Foundation is a 501©3 non-profit organization which raises money to offer opportunities in gymnastics for young people who are financially or developmentally disadvantaged.
Our Mission Statement: "Helping Children Grow", indicates our desire to support children striving to achieve their best through the practice and discipline of gymnastics. This does not just confine itself to those with Olympic aspirations, but the funds are also used for getting children off the streets and into a positive enviroment.
Our major fundraisers include:
Cartwheel-A-Thon
Olympic Dream Classic Girls Invitational
The world renowned Peter Vidmar Invitational (PVI) Click for more info
Book Fair
PVI was created by BGS founder, Michael Cates, who saw a need and held a vision to host an international boys competition for all levels. Held annually at UCLA, more than 700 athletes compete in this spectacular four-day competition. Reaching for their dreams of Olympic gold, beginning competitors through elite gymnasts are joined by Special Olympians and collegiate athletes from around the world. It is the goal of 1984 U.S. Gold Medallist Peter Vidmar and the Broadway Gymnastic Foundation to provide a quality meet for all male gymnasts.
We are always open to volunteers to assist with our fundraisers, in addition to grant writers and those who can help in the coordination of new fundraisers such as, 10K runs, auctions, etc. If you are interested, please contact Michael Cates at 310-450-0012 ext. 28.
